Barry J. Mills MD, PhD
Our Medical Director, Barry Mills MD, PhD, has over twenty-five years experience as a psychiatrist including teaching on the faculties of Harvard Medical School and the University of Texas. He was previously the Residency Training Director of UT Dell Medical School in Austin, TX. He has been honored with awards from the American College of Psychiatrists and the American Academy of Psychiatry and the Law. He is licensed to practice medicine in multiple states and is Board Certified in Psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Mills graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and has earned both M.D. and Ph.D. degrees. He received the Outstanding Senior Resident Award from UTHSC. He has been an Editor for the Harvard Review of Psychiatry, a Harvard Faculty Teaching Award nominee, and has served as Psychiatry Residency Training Director of two prestigious academic programs.
Dr. Mills is a member of multiple medical and professional organizations and has been elected to professional leadership positions by his colleagues. He is a member in good standing of the American Medical Association and American Psychiatric Association.
Dr. Mills has various hobbies including motorcycles, gardening and writing. His wife has worked for almost twenty years as a Special Education teacher. They have three children, numerous pets and two gorgeous grandchildren.
